Romance with Perfumes

Perfumes have been in existence since time immemorial, earlier in form of incense, perfumes and body oils. The history of perfume usage dates back to Egyptians who carried perfumes from birth until after their death. They believed that the perfumes would keep their skin smooth & silky even in afterlife. And, with time and years, the belief just got rooted into our minds.
Not only do we think perfumes are good for us but even scientifically perfumes/aromas have profound effect on us. Different fragrances touch different senses like some make us feel fresh, while some make feel hungry & feel tempted; some make us attracted while some make us repel. This is possibly why some people like some perfumes while others dislike. We tend to like perfumes based on our associations with aromas.
The Arabs played an important role in the evolution of the perfume industry. The Greeks & Romans loved the perfume oils and ointments the Egyptians used and so they quickly learnt the art of producing them. They also improvised and introduced newer essences from certain flowers like roses, lilies and oils like almond oils etc, which gave a special touch to the perfumes. With time, more mixture of essences lent a touch of sensuality to the perfumes which spread the glory of perfumes all over the world.
Earlier, possession of perfumes was a status symbol & luxury. While today wearing a perfume is a very normal thing but owning the finest brands of perfumes is definitely a reflection of one’s taste & money. Some of the big names in perfumes, who rocked the 70′s – the early days of perfume brands, are:

However remarkable all these perfumes are, but one must choose them as per their personal preferences. One could like musky, woody, earthy fragrances while others can like feminine fragrances.
The fragrances vary from juicy, fruity to floral choices to musky, woody, earthy fragrances to many more. The multitude of perfumes could be overwhelming too. But whatsoever, thankfully, the endless selection of perfumes for women now makes it possible for us to smell the nicest!
